About the School

Welcome to Julius Marks Elementary! 

At JME, we believe every child should feel known, valued, and ready to learn, and every family should know they have a place in our school community.

Julius Marks Elementary is a diverse and joyful school community serving families from more than 30 countries and many different cultures, languages, and experiences. We believe this diversity makes us stronger, and we work every day to create a school where students and families feel welcomed, respected, connected, and valued.

We believe school is about more than academics. We are helping children become capable, compassionate, confident people who know how to learn, work with others, navigate challenges, and contribute to their community. Our P.A.W.S. expectations help give students a common language for those skills.

We help students develop curiosity, independence, and the habits they need to approach learning with confidence.

W — Working and Playing Respectfully
We help children learn how to build relationships, appreciate differences, collaborate with others, and be part of a community.

S — Solving Problems
We teach students that challenges are part of growing. We encourage them to think critically, ask for help, work through conflict, and find solutions.

P.A.W.S. is not simply about following school rules. It is about helping children develop the skills and character they will carry with them far beyond JME.

That same philosophy shapes our relationships with families. We believe families are partners and the experts on their children, and we value what they bring to our classrooms and our community. We listen to families, learn from their experiences, and work together to create opportunities for every child to thrive.

From our classrooms and Family Resource Center to family celebrations, community partnerships, and everyday moments in our hallways, we want families to experience JME as a place where people know each other, look out for each other, and believe in each other.
