Jennifer Spencer took the helm as principal at Julius Marks Elementary in July 2020 with more than 18 years of experience in education, having served as an elementary teacher, assistant principal, and principal in Kanawha County Schools in Charleston, West Virginia, where she led one of that state’s Schools of Innovation, creating professional learning communities and 21st century learning spaces to engage students in becoming problem solvers, collaborators, creative thinkers, and student leaders.
Spencer earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Eastern Kentucky University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Marshall University.
